As there hasn't been a post on this topic in about a year . . .

The re-making of the series is about to come to an end. While the series started out a bit confusing, it has ratcheted up the lack of plot in all sorts of ways. Of course, any story that is a wandering in the wilderness doesn't ever really progress anywhere. This Galactica is stuck wandering in circles.

I will not be sorry to see this season (which is only half a season because of writers strike two years ago) end. Someday, it may be an interesting series to powercycle through ... but after season 2, it sort of began the death spiral.

Every week, after I watch the episode, I ponder to myself about that hour of my life I will never get back.

Sounds painful... maybe you should try self flagellation instead. It might be more exciting.

michaeledward: I was a fan of the original show. What were the cuss words they used? Is that where "frak" came from? Wasn't there one that, if memory serves, sounded like "feldecarb"?

UN and Battlestar Galactica host discussion of human rights and armed conflict

17 March 2009 – The United Nations is co-hosting a discussion with the stars and creators of the television show Battlestar Galactica today, exploring themes which are important to both – human rights, terrorism, children and armed conflict, and reconciliation between civilians and faiths.

“This event will show how skilful storytelling can elevate the profile of critical humanitarian issues,” said Kiyo Akasaka, UN Under-Secretary-General for Public Information. “Not only does it present an opportunity for creative discussion, but, more importantly, it offers a chance to deliver a message about the many harsh realities that still exist worldwide.”
